Anyone can complain about the problem, but debate invites you to be part of the solution. Grounded in a biblical worldview, this course invites Christian high-school students to weigh ideas, write and deliver a proposal for reform, defend a position, counter opposing arguments, and persuade an audience.
CLASS FEATURES
15-week high school course (1/2 credit)
Starts: Week of August 25, 2025
Ends: Week of December 8, 2025
Live, interactive instruction divided weekly between a 50-minute class to review new material and a 110-minute lab to put debate skills into practice
Taught by curriculum author Christy Shipe
Small class size
Uses 25-26 NCFCA debate resolution so students are prepared for competition if desired
Individual cost: $400 (does not include books)
Two-person team cost: $750 (does not include books)

Mrs. Christy Shipe is a former college debater, founder of NCFCA debate, debate curriculum author, and a debate teacher and coach. With 20+ years of debate teaching experience, Mrs. Shipe is able to make complex ideas understandable and help students enjoy their debate journey. She is also passionate about bringing a Christian perspective to the activity of debate, helping students to communicate with integrity and grace.
